25th March 2008 – Resco Awarded Contract for Turnkey Installation of OTMR.

Having carried out the design of an On Train Monitoring and Recording (OTMR) system for Mk III Driving Van Trailers (DVTs), Resco has been awarded the contract for carrying out the installation of equipment and system commissioning by Marcroft Engineering Limited. The five DVTs, which are currently undergoing a major overhaul at the Marcroft facility in Stoke on Trent, will be fitted with the Resco designed OTMR system under this contract. On completion of the works, the vehicles will go into service with the new ‘open access’ operator Wrexham, Shropshire and Marylebone Railway (WSMR) on their new direct Wrexham – London services.

February 2008 – Resco Welcomes New Senior Consultant.

Resco Railways Limited is pleased to welcome Ian Rutherford to its expanding team as a Senior Consultant. Ian’s considerable previous experience in the rail industry makes him a valuable asset and will assist him to successfully deliver work packages, particularly turnkey modifications, on behalf of Resco and its clients.

Resco embraces ROGS by offering 'Competent Person' services to key clients. In partnership with Direct Rail Services and Chiltern Railways, Resco has developed and implemented robust systems and documentation for carrying out Competent Person Engineering Acceptance of rail vehicles in support these Operators Safety Management Systems.

Resco is working with a number of other passenger and freight operators to extend the scope of their Safety Management Systems to allow Resco to carry out Competent Person work on their behalf.
